1st Day: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait ben Haddou - Ouarzazate
This 5-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech or the airport. Next, drive through the Tizi-N Tichka Pass and the magnificent High Atlas Mountains. There will be pauses to enjoy the expansive views of the superb scenery. After that, we go to Kasbah Telouat and Ounila Valley.
Then we head to the well-known Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou—a fortified castle classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In addition, the Kasbah has appeared in several films, such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, Game of Thrones, and others. After lunch in a local restaurant, we continue our journey to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” where we will visit Atlas Studio before we check-in our accommodation. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
2nd Day: Ouarzazate - Skoura - Rose valley - Dades Valley
After breakfast and before we leave Ouarzazate, we will pass by Kasbah Taourirt, a fortified mud castle that is home to one of the most magnificent and oldest palaces in Morocco. We then continue our adventure east to Skoura to see Kasbah Amridil via the road of Thousand Kasbahs surrounded by palm groves.
We will go to Kalaat Magouna, famous for its Valley of Roses. Every May, there is a Rose Festival where people sell rose products from perfumes to rose water, oil, and cosmetics. After that, we travel via Boumalne Dades to Dades Valley. A stop at the Monkey Toes rock formation and on top of a peak overlooking the Dades Valley is unavoidable. Dinner and overnight at Dades Valley Hotel.
3rd Day: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga desert
We will start an adventurous trip to the Merzouga Desert after enjoying a delicious breakfast at your accommodation.
On our way, we will stop to take a pleasant walk in the Todra Valley and enjoy the sweeping and stunning views of the Tinerhir Oasis.
In the afternoon we will reach the Merzouga desert. Here, you will enjoy an authentic camel ride across the dunes, and watch a stunning sunset from the top of the high dunes. Upon arrival at your desert camp, you will be warmly welcomed with a cup of tea before being escorted to your private desert tent. After relaxing and enjoying a delicious dinner at the camp, you can gather around the campfire to enjoy the rhythmic beats of drums and traditional Berber songs under a starry sky.
4th Day: Explore Merzouga - Khamlia - Black Desert - Nomads
Wake up early to enjoy a breathtaking sunrise. Prepare yourself for an adventurous day exploring the Merzouga Desert after a delicious breakfast.
Start your journey by traveling to Khamlia, a small town known for its distinctive Gnawa music, a traditional genre performed by residents with ties to African slave lives. Next, we’ll travel off-road into the black desert stones to M’Fis, an abandoned village known for its mineral mines that produce lead and baryte.
Visit a Berber family living in the desert near the Erg Chebbi dunes to learn more about the nomad lifestyle. You will experience authentic Berber hospitality here and learn about their way of life, far removed from the modern world.
In the Midday:
After lunch at a local restaurant, We will head to a wonderful riad or hotel next to the dunes where you may spend some time swimming and relaxing. Later, you can enjoy the breathtaking sunset by taking a pleasant walk to the dunes to enjoy the stunning sunset.
Please keep in mind that you have the option of staying a second night in the desert camp instead of the hotel if you wish.
5th Day: Merzouga - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Cedar forest - Fes
On the last day of your 5-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, we’ll start our journey to Fes and make several stops at fantastic destinations, including the picturesque Ziz Valley, a captivating cedar forest near Azrou where you’ll encounter Wild monkeys, and the scenic city of Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco.

How will I get to the camp if I can't ride the camel?
Rather than riding a camel, we can take you to the camp by car. Alternatively, you can pay an additional fee to participate in one of our activities. You can do a Merzouga quad biking or buggy trip instead of a camel ride.

What should I bring with me on the tour?
